The Art of Tom EpinayTom Epinay was born in 1978 and is a self taught artist from Hampshire in the UK.After rediscovering his love of art through portrait sketching in his free time Tom quickly developed a desire to paint which he started to do in 2009 concentrating on one medium, oil painting. For his early work Tom drew inspiration from an interest in modern history and popular culture and began by painting people and subjects of interest to him in a simple, bold, and vibrant style, hoping to learn from the process. Gaining in confidence he then approached a more traditional subject, and drawing inspiration from locations he has visited in Europe, produced his first series of paintings from his own photographs, again learning from the painting process. Alongside these he has also continued to paint and improve works in the original pop art style. Epinay is continuing to move forward with his painting, building on the skills he has acquired, and improving the quality of his work. He is currently working on his next collection, and divides his time between his home in Hampshire and the family home in Normandy, France.
